[/style][/style][/style] Early mornings were never Kaelan's forte. However, that day, he found himself up and going well before when he had assumed he would. Kae was not too sure that was a good thing, either, especially on a Saturday. Who was up and wandering around town at seven in the morning on a Saturday? Well, Kaelan, obviously. He had his camera with him, and his notebook in the satchel slung over his shoulder, and was ready to face the world. He thought about stopping by the Starbucks to get some coffee, but ended up not stopping. There was snow on the ground still, though it was not as cold as it had been, and Kae could see his breath spiraling out in front of him as he walked. The blond teen hummed softly to himself as he found himself wandering along one of the trails in the woods that surrounded the town and school. It probably was not the smartest idea to be there alone, but Kae spent most of his time alone, anyway. He could focus better on taking photos when he was alone. Of course, Kaelan did not really like being alone, but he got used to it. The teen thought about texting his newest and best friend, Mickey, but at the same time... It was early, and Kae would feel bad if he texted and woke the other boy up. It would just make him feel all guilty and stuff. He hummed along with the song he had playing on his iPod, The Sound of Madness by Shinedown; it was one of his most favorite songs, and he often listened to it while he was taking photos or drawing. It just inspired him a lot, though he could not place why. After a few more moments, Kaelan sighed heavily and hung his camera around his neck so that he could pull his cell phone out of his pocket and text Mickey. Spending the morning wandering the woods. Wanna come with? Main path from the school if yes. Kae worried for a moment as he sent it that he would be waking up his best friend, but eventually pushed that worry aside as he went over to sit on a large bolder and start taking photos again. He did not know if Mickey would even get his text, or if he would want to come out there, but it would be nice to spend some time with his friend. He had not seen the younger boy in a few days, mostly because he had been avoiding everyone while he'd been very, very low. The teen had even missed quite a few classes, spending his time cooped up in the dorm. He had gone through an entire sketchbook in his self-induced exile. Of course, his therapist, Miss October, had come to talk to him and make sure he was okay once it was found out that he was skipping classes. At first he had not even cared about the possibility of detention or something for skipping, but then he realized he was probably in trouble as October sat on his desk chair to talk with him. However, she ended up giving him an excuse note to miss classes for that day and the next. It was rather nice of her, though Kae was not fully sure why she had not gotten him into trouble. She had said something at the time about understanding just needing a few days to yourself, though the two of them would have a long talk during his actual session day, and that she would not do something like that for him again. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted, especially considering classes had only just started up again after that storm that had hit. That had been crazy, nice but crazy. Of course, now Kae was all antsy and worried about getting caught up on his homework and everything that he had missed. He had a lot of catching up to do. He could do it, though; he knew he could. Kaelan nodded determinedly to himself at that thought and then resumed taking photos of the white world around him, hoping that Mickey would end up joining him soon. ONE PUSH IS ALL YOU'LL NEED- - - - - - - - a fist first philosophy - - - - - - - -Tag: Kaelan Words: 857 Lyrics: Diamond Eyes - Shinedown Outfit: I'll make one later or something Notes: It doesn't suck - - - - - - - - - - - - - Alarm clocks should be illegal on the weekends. That was Mickey's first thought on Saturday morning when he was awakened by his roommate's alarm clock going off at 6 AM. Did the other boy even know that it was Saturday? Of course, his roommate was completely unaffected by the evil machine and continued sleeping soundly. Grabbing one of his extra pillows, Mickey threw it at the other boy.
If it hadn't had been six on a Saturday morning, Mickey would have found his roommate's face priceless. Instead, he just glared at the boy. “Turn your alarm clock off already, it's the weekend genius.” He grumbled. If Mickey hadn't had been so grumpy because he got woken up early, he never would have said anything like that. His roommate seemed to immediately understand that the normally shy boy was in an extremely foul mood and should not be messed with, because he immediately shut the machine off. Mickey heard a mumbled apology from the other boy, who was already laying back down to get some more sleep.
Sighing, the young teen snuggled back underneath his covers and closed his eyes again, hoping that he would be able to go back asleep and wake up at a later hour. About ten minutes later, he groaned in frustration and sat back up. Sleep was now impossible for the boy. Shooting another venomous glare at the sleeping figure of his roommate, Mickey leaned over the side of his bed and grabbed the backpack that rested on the floor. Hauling it up onto his bed, the boy fished around inside of it until he came across what he was looking for, his sketchbook. Mickey took it out, along with a pencil, and then sat the backpack back onto the floor. Flipping through the book, Mickey stopped on the first unused page and rested the book against his legs. A field of white laid before him, just waiting to be filled with whatever he felt like drawing.
Tapping the eraser of his pencil against the edge of the sketchbook, Mickey debated on what to draw. He wasn't entirely sure just how long he sat there trying to think of what to draw without putting a single mark on the paper. Finally, he settled on something simple just to pass some time. A flower. Mickey started with the petals, the hardest part to draw on a flower. He was horrible at remembering what the different types of flowers were called other than roses, so he didn't know what type of flower it was exactly.
He hadn't gotten very far when a familiar ring tone played on his phone. His eyebrows creased slightly as he looked at his phone in confusion. Why was Kaelan texting him so early? He knew for a fact that his best friends liked mornings about as much as he did. Grabbing his phone off of the bedside table, Mickey unlocked it and opened up the text message.
Spending the morning wandering the woods. Wanna come with? Main path from the school if yes.
Even though he was still confused about why his friend was up so early, a small smile played on the edges of his lips. He hadn't seen his best friend in a few days when the boy had avoided him, along with everyone else while he was extremely depressed. Mickey had wished that his best friend would have talked to him still, but he understood that his friend probably just wanted to stay in his room without doing anything.
After replying that he'd be there soon, Mickey sat his sketchbook down on his bed beside him and stood up. It wasn't like he had anything better to do than hang out with his friend. Well, he could draw, but he could do that whenever he wanted to. The boy quickly got changed out of his pajamas into a pair of dark jeans and a plain red tee-shirt. Mickey finished getting ready within a few minutes, adding a jacket, a pair of red converse with random drawings on them, and a beanie to his outfit. The boy grabbed his phone and stuck it into his pocket then walked out the door.
Mickey stopped as he stepped outside the dorm building and looked around. There was a layer of snow on top of everything, making it look so pretty. Taking a long breath, Mickey started down the steps. When he got to the bottom, he began jogging leisurely toward the place that he was supposed to meet his best friend at. It wasn't all that far away, so it didn't take that long for him to get there. Stopping far enough away to be pretty confident that his friend wouldn't see him, but he could still glimpse Kae's platinum blonde hair through the brush, Mickey grabbed a handful of snow. Mickey quickly formed it into a ball and started walking again. He walked sneakily away from his friend, going around where the boy was supposed to be to sneak up behind him. Once he was close enough, Mickey threw the snowball, aiming for his best friend's back.

[/style][/style][/style] Kae could not keep the smile off his face when he got a reply that Mickey would be there soon. Spending time with the younger boy was often one of the highlights of his day, well, on good days, anyway. Kaelan was determined that it was going to be a completely good day; though, he knew well that he did not really have much say in that. If his emotions held, though, it would be a good day. The currently blond boy hummed softly to himself as he adjusted the settings on his camera so that he would get a different result with the photos, completely losing himself in what he was doing. It was not an uncommon thing, to be honest; but, Kae was very artistic and spend a lot of his time embracing any aspect of his talents that he could. It helped to make things not so boring. At least, he thought so. The slight wind blew some of the more powdery snow around, and Kae caught a couple neat photos of it with the rather beautiful scenery around him. It was a lot different than home. There, they just got rain; a lot of rain. Sure, it would snow from time to time in the cold months, but nothing like it did there in Washington. It was lovely. Sometimes. The British teen was not sure how long he had sat there, waiting for Micheal to show up, when he was quickly pulled out of his thoughts by a thing of snow colliding with his back, causing him to lurch forward off the rock he was occupying with a gasp. The blond teen wiped at the snow on his back as he quickly looked around to see who it had been, though he was pretty positive it was Mickey. He smirked a little in amusement as he said, "Isn't it cheating to sneak up on someone when their back is turned?" The elder boy's accent was still fairly thick in his soft voice, despite having lived in the States for a while. He did not mind, though, (especially in a manic state), because people tended to find it attractive. Kaelan just thought it existed and made him even more different from the others than he was already. Kae did not waste time in putting the lens cap back onto his camera before taking a handful of snow to toss back at his best friend. Fair was fair, after all. The playful action brought a smile to Kaelan's face, and he was even more glad that he had asked for Mickey to join him. He grabbed a cautionary second handful of snow as he slowly started to walk toward the dark-haired boy and chuckled a little. "'Ve I started a war or can I let my guard down?" he questioned, his tone light and teasing as his eyes showed his amusement in the situation. It was highly likely he was going to put the snow in his hand to good use either way, but it was the thought that counted, right? Okay, so Kae was pretty damn sure that the statement did not really fit the current situation; but, still. It was amusing; and, he was often teasing and joking around with Mickey. It was part of why he liked their friendship. He could kind of relax and loosen up around the other boy. Plus, he never felt that he had to speak up very loudly for Mick to hear him. Michael always listened to him. It was a nice change, really. Kae liked when he did not have to be forceful in his tones to get his point across. It was just... pointless. Besides, if someone was not willing to listen to you when you were quiet, who was to say they would really listen when you were loud? Even his own family did not like to really listen to him. It was a bit disheartening, if he was totally honest. tagged: Mickey words: 0664 outfit: link notes: ignore the short word count, m'kay?

ONE PUSH IS ALL YOU'LL NEED- - - - - - - - a fist first philosophy - - - - - - - -Tag: Kaelan Words: 561 Lyrics: Diamond Eyes - Shinedown Outfit: yeah i never made one Notes: blah- - - - - - - - - - - - - Mickey smirked when the snowball hit his friends back. Okay, so he didn't mean to knock the older boy off of the rock that he was sitting on, but it was pretty funny that he did. He loved to play around and mess with his friends once he got comfortable enough with them. Mickey was pretty much a completely different person when he was with his friends than when he was with people he didn't know. He put on a fake confused look at Kae's question. “How else are you supposed to sneak up on someone?” he asked. Mickey was almost positive that sneaking up on someone involved going up behind the person and surprising them. If you went in front of them, they'd be able to see you.
“All's fair in love and war though,” he added, repeating an old quote that he heard somewhere. Mickey loved quotes. He wasn't really sure why, but he did. The boy would often incorporate quotes or random pop-culture references into his conversations. Sometimes he would do it without even realizing it. They were normally old references too. Sometimes he would make a reference to something that he probably shouldn't even know. It was just one of the things that made Mickey Mickey.
The boy was brought out of his thoughts by a snowball hitting him in the shoulder. He should have expected that. It would have been stupid to throw a snowball at someone and not expect to be hit with one in return. It was only fair. Mickey watched as Kae picked up another handful of snow and started walking toward him. He smirked at the other boy's question and feigned a thoughtful look. A few seconds later, Mickey bent down and made another snowball. Throwing it at his friend, Mickey answered the question at hand. “Now you can let your guard down.” Mickey was pretty positive that his answer didn't really matter. Kae was probably going to throw the handful of snow either way. Then Mickey would throw another snowball and they'd probably have a full-out snowball fight on their hands.
Mickey never really had trouble hearing his soft-spoken friend. If the person was interesting or someone he cared about he always listened, even if they weren't talking very loudly. It was the boring people that he didn't really care for that much that Mickey had trouble hearing. Maybe that's why teachers always seemed to talk so loudly. Kae was definitely interesting, and they were best friends, so Mickey obviously cared about him, so he didn't really have a problem. Plus his accent was awesome, so that helped. My best friend's British, what's yours? Yeah that's right, my best friend is cooler than yours. He thought to any mind-readers that could be nearby. Okay, maybe he had too much candy before he went to sleep last night.
The younger boy looked around, noticing how pretty the woods out here looked when everything was covered in snow. The early morning sun was reflecting off all of the white, making it almost seem to sparkle. It also reminded Mickey of how early it was. “Be happy that my genius roommate forgot that today was Saturday and his alarm clock woke me up instead of your text message. You would have had a very grumpy Mickey on your hands.” He said, looking back at his friend.
