The year is 2035, 20 years after the war for the cure. 20 years after the death of Xavier. And my how the world has changed.

The de-powering of all the criminal mutants involved in the ‘war of the cure’ was unsucseessful. With many of them finding their powers to be re-emerging, including the powers of the infamous Magneto. As his powers re-grew so did his Brotherhood. And as the powers of other mutants grew so did mutant hating terrorist groups, Friends Of Humanity being the biggest name in this.

Both sides saw this as a threat the X-men and Brotherhood formed a temporary alliance, pooling their forces together to help save the lives of the mutants that were being attacked. This alliance lasted for the better part of 5 years before President Allen Clevenger passed the mutant rights act making it illegal to commit acts of hate or prejudice towards mutants.

Now 15 years after the law was passed Nelson Mosca holds office as the first mutant president. Though it is now considered just as wrong to hold being a mutant against someone as it is to judge them by their skin, many people were not happy about the results of this election and thus the Friends Of Humanity re-formed to put mutants back in their place.

And this is how things stand today despite all of the advances made this world still stands on the brink of war.
