A lot of things had happened since August joined the academic system of St. Helena's. Starting from her freshman year, she didn't get into much trouble, but often was told to relax a bit or to go back to classes. The voices in her head, didn't seem to ease up on her either as time went on, because the more she continued at St. Helena's, the more she was told to ignore them. The more they were ignored, the unhappier they were. The girl always listened to them, whether it was going to harm her or not, she didn't care. If it pleased them, then it relaxed her brain. A lot of headaches resulted in the voices, sometimes she'd even pass out because it was just too much. Or just cry… either way, she had a lot going on inside of that pretty little skull of hers and she didn't always say something about it. It was why, all of this morning, she had been completely shut out away from the world as she went through her classes, barely even listening to the teacher. Her jaw was always clenched, trying so hard not to just start crying because the pain was too much. August… my sweet little thing… what you doing? Stop paying attention to the teach.. and pay attention to me.. One of the voices cooed inside of her head. She closed her eyes, her fingers rubbing her temples slowly. " Shut up." She muttered, shifting uncomfortably in her chair.
The teacher luckily hadn't noticed anything, just thinking August had a bad head ache of the sorts. After class was over, she got up a little too quickly, a dizziness causing her to stop and place her hands firmly on her desk. Shaking her head, she didn't want to deal with this anymore and decided that maybe going down to the Medical wing to get something for this head ache would help. Shoving her things into her bag, she managed her way out of the room without going noticed by the teacher, before her pain stricken face obviously showed how much she wanted the voices to stop talking to her right now. August.. you don't need help, you are just fine.. go to class love Another one tried to assure, but she shook her head and continued on to the Medical wing. Not having been paying attention, she stumbled down a small flight of stairs, dropping her things. Cursing underneath her breath, student's stopped to look at her but she kept her gaze to the ground, the voices laughing at her. You are such a fool!! Look at how clumsy you are! Someones got two left feet!! They snickered, tormenting her. " SHUT UP!" She screamed, causing some of the students to pause and look at her before continuing on.
With her eyes slightly watered, she gathered her things and walked briskly to the medical wing, explaining how she had a head ache and that the voices wouldn't stop and how she just fell , causing her knee a little bit of pain. With a sniff, the nurse looked at her for a moment before taking her back into a room, which looked like any normal doctors room. Setting her books down, she sat on the little bed/table thing and ran her hands through her hair, the head ache throbbing ever so slowly and painfully. Whadda joke.. A voice snapped in her head, causing a tear to roll over her cheek.

There was a new patient - er - student whom had arrived a few days ago to St. Helena's and already the boy was causing problems. Salizar raised a hand, massaging his temples. Already, the boy had been brought to him covered in his own blood and he'd had to bandage him up. He could tell that this boy was going to be a handful. He looked up as the nurse on the clock entered into his office, stating that there was a young girl waiting in the examination room. He gave a small nod and got to his feet, reaching up to make sure that his tie was straight, had to look professional, after all. Of course, unless he was at the hospital, he wasn't one to wear the lab coat. He grabbed hold of his clipboard and moved out of his office at that point.
Walking into the room, he looked up at the girl sitting on the exam table and moved towards the small desk set up in the corner with a computer. He recognized her from the photo that her file carried, though she wasn't one of his more frequent visitors. "Well, Miss Sills isn't it?" he asked, laying the clipboard down and moving over towards her. "What seems to be the problem?" he asked. She didn't appear to be gushing blood, which was an improvement over Katana earlier. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small light and leaned in, placing his hand against her forehead and using his thumb to pull back her eyelid slightly and shined the light into the iris at a slight angle before switching hands and doing the same.
"Mm... look left for me, would you?" he asked slightly before pulling back away from her and moving towards the computer and typing in his login information and bringing up the file for August Sills. "Your vitals seem fine, and I don't see any physical trauma unless you're hiding it under your clothes," he stated simply, skimming over her file. She was a schizophrenic prone to self harm. He moved back towards her at this point, slowly reaching out to gently grip her hand and looking at her arm. No new wounds as of right now. He looked back up at her, tilting his head slightly. "So what seems to be the problem?" he asked, releasing her and sitting down on the stool in the room.
He reached over, picking up his clipboard once more and writing down some information such as the time and date and August's name before looking back up at her, folding his hands over the clipboard. There had to be a reason she was there, after all. Of course, she was likely there on her own willpower, teachers who instructed students to come to him tended escort said students to the infirmary to be sure that they arrived there instead of ducking back into their rooms. "Who is your counselor, Miss Sills?" he asked, looking back down at his paper. Sure, he could check up on that on the computer but... why when she could give him the information all on her little lonesome? It was less work for him, actually.

Hearing the door open and click shut, her blue eyes slowly pulled them to look at the doctor. Doctor Snighrig wasn't someone she particularly though about a lot. She had been in a few times, but it wasn't for anything too bad. Having history of self harm, she knew that he would ask about that, or at least check but that wasn't why she was in here this day. Letting him settle in, there wasn't anything to be said until he asked. With a blank look, she just let him check her vitals, a slight sigh leaving her lips. " Uh.. i have a headache" She said weakly, sniffing a little as she looked to the left. Her eyes had been watering and with the light in her eye, it didn't do any help. After he was done, she just cleared her throat and looked at him blankly, as if trying to figure out how to word what she wanted to say.
Shifting a little in her seat, she fiddled with her thumbs for a moment, looking down at them. " I have a head ache. It hurts like hell and it won't go away. That and i fell down the stairs and landed on my knee, it hurts really bad." She said with a little agitation, biting down onto her lower lip as her gaze picked itself off of her hands and onto his face. One of the many things she learned to hate since she started going to St.Helena's was clipboards. She was worth more then just whatever was on that stupid piece of paper. No matter who she sought help from, they pulled out a clipboard to mark things down that she said, or to just add more to her record. Was that all these students were to the staff? Taking a deep breath, she calmed herself down, pulling her gaze back away from what he was doing. Damn did she hate doctor offices.
Blinking , she shrugged. " Mr. Smith is my counselor." She said shortly. before reaching up to tuck a piece of her blonde hair behind her ear. " Don't tell him about this, the head ache is just because i haven't been sleeping. The voices have.. absolutely nothing to do with it. Just.. yeah… and my knee.. my knee really hurts. " She said nervously, clearing her throat yet again since she felt so nervous and upset that she was sitting here longer then she felt she needed to be. What a wimp.. won't even live up to the truth. Come on August.. the headache isn't thaaaat.. bad. A voice chirped, causing the girl to reach up and rub her temples slowly, closing her eyes tightly. shut up.. shut up.. shut up!!!! she thought, her eyebrows slowly pulling together. The voices really needed to stop messing with her right now because it was getting old.

Setting the clipboard dow on the table once more, he moved forward once more, reaching up slightly with both hands to press his fingers just beneath her ears behind her jaw and he seemed to look past her as he massaged the area while she spoke. "Hm. Peculiar. Can you tell me why you haven't been sleeping?" he asked simply, looking back up at her as he leaned forward, sliding his hands back to the back of her head underneath her hair slightly, still massaging her skull slightly with his fingers. He didn't feel any abnormalities that would suggest that she'd struck her head on anything, not knots or tenseness. With that line of thought, he shifted his hands down to her shoulders and gave a slight wince.
"You're tense. You may have pulled something or struck a nerve which would, in turn, cause the headache." Moving his hands from her shoulders he looked up at her. "I'm going to look at your knee now," he stated simply as he reached down and pressed his hands over her knee, fingers moving down under it while his thumbs massaged the nerve beneath the patella. "This nerve is inflamed, you probably just whacked it pretty damn good when you fell over. A mild pain killer with asprin would help the swelling to go down so that it doesn't hurt quite as much." He got up off of the stool at this point and moved towards one of the cabinets in the examination room. Reaching into his pockets, he pulled out a set of keys and unlocked said cabinet and reached in to pull down a bottle.
"How long has the headache been persisting, Miss Sills? Since you woke up this morning or did it strike up sometime during the night hours?" he asked. While he didn't entirely believe her story about the headache being induced because of a lack of sleep, he thought it best to humor her. "You took your medication last night and this morning whenever you were supposed to right? Sometimes if you miss a dose, it can mess with your system." In addition to making the voices come back. Placing the pills into a small plastic cup, he pulled down a paper cup from a package and moved to the sink to fill it with water, handing her both cups. "Take those for your knee," he stated simply. "It might also help with the headache."
He sat back down on his stool at this point. "As of right now... I want you..." he grabbed his clipboard and flipped the papers up to what rested on the bottom and tore off a small slip and handed it to her with his pen. "Write down the names of which teachers you have today, I'm perscribing some sleep for you. You are way to tense, and sleep will only help with that. That's also probably part of the reason you had trouble sleeping." he handed her the other smallish cup he'd set up as well. "These are sleeping pills... and you're going to take them here. I'll escort you to the dorms to be sure you don't pass out between here and there, and then I will go and speak to your teachers and let them know where you are." He pulled out a different pen and wrote down his perscription and the supposed-cause for her headache on the chart. "Is there anything else you need to talk to me about?"

Having someones hands upon her wasn't something August was too keen on.. but in a moment like this, the girl felt entirely weak and desperate for someones help. All the girl wanted was for the pain to go away and disappear , only to never come back again. Even if the doctor was school staff, part of her was wary that he was getting so close. The voices always told her not to trust anyone, it was bad because they could both cause her mentally brutal pain but also physical. Going beyond prude, August one the medal for never having even thought about the opposite gender in any way more then just their own existence. Beyond knowing that there was an opposite gender, she wasn't too sure about. Knowing that a broken heart could result in getting too close to someone.. really bothered her and she was sure it would never happen. It was why she had never been on a date before, never been kissed, and as sure as hell.. never even held hands with a guy.
As his hands reached over to the sides of her head, pressing his fingers down behind her ear… she let out a soft breath, keeping her eyes closed so she wouldn't have to look at him. It felt good, what he was doing. Normally cold ,strong hands of a male would make her feel entirely uncomfortable, but it relieved some pain and gave some distraction to the girl. The way he massaged her skull, it made her more relaxed then she would have ever thought. Knowing she always had a thing about running someones hands through her hair, she guessed that the skin around her scalp was just sensitive. The moment his hands pressed against her shoulders though, she could feel how tense she was. Her face twisted into an uncomfortable expression, her eyes finally opening to look at him. August was always tense, it was just the way she knew life. To be tense, to never be relaxed. Yep, that's the way she liked to live.
Now when he touched her knee, she didn't enjoy that too much. Flinching, she moved her knee a little, her gaze stiffening a bit. " I hope this aspirin works.." She mumbled unhappily, her gaze yet again flickering away from the man. As he asked another question, she gritted her teeth before taking the two cups, examining them for a moment. " The headache started since i woke up. I can't sleep because i have night terrors.. my mind is constantly buzzing with something.. always something negative too. Anyways, i sleep stressed and i wake up just as stressed. This headache just seems to be more powerful then the others that's all." She shrugged before tilting the little cup with the pills into her mouth, swinging down the water easily. Scrunching up her nose, she set the little cups to the side and shook her head, before sighing. She was just about to get ready to leave when he continued to speak.
Cautiously taking the piece of paper and pen, she didn't know why she had to go sleep. It was a bit weird, for it was just a headache..nothing he needed to worry about. Confused and flustered, she wrote the rest of her schedule down and handed it back to him in exchange for the sleeping pills. Maybe it was a good idea, so that she didn't have to deal with any of the rest of the annoying student's she'd have to deal with. Maybe for once she could get rest without having to be woken up abruptly by a nightmare. Standing up, she took the small cup that had the water and filled it back up again before downing the pills and the water once again. She threw all of the trash away and sat down. " Uh not really. Thanks i guess…sorry if a minor case like me wasn't really something i should have come down here for. " She said quietly, showing a little less resistance towards the doctor. " Since i just took the pills, can't i just go to my dorm now? Im not going to pass out or anything on the way, i am sure that they take a good twenty minutes or so to kick in.." She offered, reaching for her book bag.

She had seemed fine when he was checking her head, but the instant that he had gone down to check her knee, she'd tensed up again. There wasn't anything in her file about her having been sexually abused, so he wasn't entirely sure what was putting her off about him. He looked over at her when she stated that she ust hoped that the asprin worked. "Well, if your head is hurting because you aren't sleeping, then it'll be the sleep that helps the most, you can't expect medication to get rid of everything just like magic," he stated easily, offering her a small smile. He remained silent though as she proceeded to tell him about her night terrors.
He looked up at her in alarm, she was past the age when children usually had night terrors. He wondered vaguely how long they had been going on. He leaned forward on his stool slightly, watching her. "How long have these night terrors been going on?" he asked her softly. He watched her for a moment before getting to his feet yet again and going to the cabinet, again unlocking it to pull out another bottle labeled "Diazepam" and shook out a single pill into his hand which he then placed into one of the small cups August had previously been using. "Typically, its not recommended to give medication for night terrors, but in this instance..." he handed it back to her.
"I'd hate for you to get locked into a night terror because of the sleeping pill," he stated simply. "Does John know that you suffer from night terrors on a regular basis?" he asked softly. He had not been informed of her having night terrors. John should have informed him that someone of her age was suffering from night terrors, because it could be something exceptionally serious as she got older. He'd hate to have a student suffer from a heart attack just because he didn't know that she had night terrors, he'd have to talk to John about that later on. He offered her a small smile at this point. "Well... we'll help you deal with them, whatever the cost, alright? And hopefully, we'll be able to get you past them."
When she stated that there wasn't anything that she came down there for and then apologized for being a 'minor' case, he waved it off. "Nonsense, there is no such thing as a minor case, I'm glad you came down to talk to me." Especially since it helped him learn she had night terrors. However, as the other stated that she wanted tojust go to her dorm without him, he shook his head slightly. "I'd rather be safe than sorry, Miss Sills. I've seen that particular brand of sleeping pill knock someone out in ten minutes. It all just depends on your metabolism," he stated, waiting for her to rise as he took the piece of paper where she'd written her teachers names and took up his clipboard before moving towards the door. "Shall we then, Miss Sills?" he asked, handing the clipboard off to the nurse as he smiled back at her.

It wasn't that August was abused in there past, it was just… the touch of a male was so foreign to her. She liked it when the doctor had lightly massaged areas on her head, but, besides that, she did tense up when he got close to her knee. Rolling her eyes a bit, she nodded. " Well i am aware that medication isn't magic doctor. If it was, none of us nuts would be here. " She said rather uncomfortably, slightly annoyed as he began to look at her with alarm. It didn't occur to August that only children were supposed to have night terrors. She just thought it was normal, to wake up screaming in the middle of the night. It's happened to her since she was at her home in Scotland.
Clearing her throat, she spoke in her Scottish tone, raising an eyebrow as he watcher her. " Since the earliest i can remember. Its happened to me almost every night, i just figure it normal now. " She spoke, blinking a little. Why did people here have to ask so many questions? It was beginning to get tiring to have to answer the same thing over and over again. " Locked into a night terror.. well that does sound quite unpleasant." She whispered, looking at the medication this doctor just handed her. She was a bit hesitant this time, for he said that it wasn't recommended. In a way, she had to trust him and do what he said, he was giving her medication for her illness so she had to take it.. but why didn't they recommend it?
Shrugging to herself, she just had to believe him. Swinging it down, she took a sip of water before sighing, tired of taking so much medication. Maybe, she was just tired in general.. whatever it was, she was just getting slightly annoyed.. but definitely more relaxed. " Yes, he knows that i suffer from them. How would anybody not know.. i wake up screaming almost every night. I would think the girls dorm hates me by now. " She said softly, with a slight bit of sadness, just making a quick judgement about every other girl at St. Helena's. Nodding, she just slid off of the table and grabbed her backpack, adjusting it on her back so that she could hold it with ease as they walked.
Feeling a slight bit of relief as he told her that she didn't make a mistake by coming down to him, she gave him a small smile. Yawning, she shoved her hands into her jean pockets, looking down at the ground as they began to walk. " In ten minutes? well, that's rather quick. I feel….im starting to feel a bit drowsy but, its not bad. " She said quietly, ignoring looking at other student's or just up in general as they began to walk towards her dorm. August was a shy girl and it was definitely obvious in this moment. She didn't gaze up to look at anyone and was barely holding the conversation between her and the doctor. Scratching her head, she sighed, hating feeling so awkward.

"Now, come on. None of you are 'nuts'. You just... are different than most people. No less than people who are diabetic. Its just that the problem that everyone here has isn't something that affects them physically, just mentally. But you're not nuts," he reiterated. He offered a small smile to her at this point, attempting to reassure her. It didn't help the students to think that they were crazy or that there was nothing that could be done to help them. That was not condusive to a healing atmosphere. It was his sole goal to make sure that they got the help and the treatments that they needed, it was why St. Helena's was started, to help children cope with their disabilities.
He frowned at her statement that her night terrors had been happening to her nearly every night for as long as she could remember. "It shouldn't be normal though. Night terrors shouldn't last this long... its quite unusual. I'll speak to your counselor about it, I'm shocked he hasn't told me before now. There are things to be done for it, such as the medication. The only reason that it isn't recommended is because some people can become dependant on it, and that's the last thing that we want," he stated simply, more to himself than to August as he thought over what could be done to help the girl with her night terrors. He was brought back from his thoughts when she repeated that being locked into a night terror sounded unpleasant.
He gave a soft chuckle at that. "Well... like I said, you and I can sit down with John and we'll figure out something. A girl your age shouldn't be suffering from night terrors," he stated simply. "Which means that if there is an irregularity, we might be able to isolate it and fix it." He couldn't even imagine suffering from night terrors for so long. The poor girl must be miserable. Night terrors would have prevented her from getting the restful sleep that she needed, it was a wonder she was able to function normally at all. Sleep deprivation could mess with all sorts of things. Perhaps he should speak with that new counselor, Ricky, who dealt in sleep disorders. He might have a better angle on the situtation.
Though as they walked, he could tell that she was starting to lag just a little. "Mm... people have different metabolic rates. Some people just absorb the contents of the pill a lot faster than others." He shrugged slightly at the thought, though did notice that as they came into contact with other students, she seemed to draw back into herself. Well, that would never do. "Do you need me to tell your friends not to disturb your rest? I would hate for you to drop off only to have a friend bursting down your door demanding to know where you are..." he stated simply as they reached the dormatories and headed towards the girl's dormatories. "You're on the third floor, yes? Can you make it up by yourself?" Once he was assured that she could make it upstairs, he gave her a faint nod. "Alright then. Come see me again tomorrow so I can make sure there aren't any adverse affects. And to check on your knee."
