October was always such a pretty month, the trees eliminated with colors of oranges and yellows, the breeze always so brisk! There even seemed to always be a perfect overcast of clouds so that the sun couldn't pierce through and brighten up the day. It all worked for the month of October, it made the month what it was. Though then as soon as November rolled around, everything got nasty. The one thing that was annoying to wake up to was an unpleasant sight outside windows of bare trees, wet leaves pressed upon pavement, and just the darkish gray clouds that gloomed everyones day. It was August's opinion on the weather for the next two months, she loved and hated both of them. Just like every October day, it had been pretty chilly most of the time, causing more student's to dwell inside. If that meant that a good amount of student's would be inside, it meant August was going outside. The people here at St. Helena's annoyed her, for no apparent reason really, she just wasn't giving most of them a chance. More then likely she wouldn't see any of them after this little four year deal , so why make relationships with them if they weren't going to last her , her entire life?
As much as that was her outlook on things now a days, she did open up to one person, that one person being Ciel. It helped that they were in the same grade and that they both seemed to really understand each other. There was no one else she wanted to know about the voices in her head, or the things she has done, and there wasn't anyone else she'd put as much trust in. Yeah, they could get emotionally distant from each other but when they needed someone to talk to, they had each other. It helped Kara get through most of the day knowing she had a friend like Ciel. He was a good guy, there was nothing she thought bad about him. It wasn't that she needed someone to talk to but it was a feeling that she needed company. Just someone there, so having escaped the walls of St. Helena's for a little bit, she texted Ciel to see if he wanted to meet up with her or something. Her level of comfortableness with him could lead them to do anything really, since she wouldn't be even close to that comfortable to anyone else. The only time August would be seen going to a party was if Ciel was in the room and other situations like that. She only became semi social if Ciel was with her.
Having snuck off to the old abandoned Quarry. Sitting herself upon a large boulder, she looked down into the vast space of the rest of it, not having traveled down far. Pulling the sleeves up on the sweater she had underneath her jacket, she buried her chin into her thick scarf, her golden curls tousling slowly in the light breeze. It wasn't too bad out, but the sun definitely wasn't shining, making the small breeze that there was nip at her rosy cheeks. Holding her phone in her hand, she hoped he would show up. There was nothing like just hanging out with someone that accepted you and understood you, it was a calming feeling for the young girl. Though most of the time, she understood if Ciel didn't want to, he had a life of his own, friends of his own, unlike little miss August who just had him and the voices in her head.

please , PLEASE, FORGIVE ME, BUT I WON'T BE HOME AGAIN. MAYBE SOMEDAY YOU'LL LOOK UP, AND BARELY CONSCIOUS, YOU'LL SAY TO NO ONE, "ISN'T SOMETHING MISSING?" YOU WON'T CRY FOR MY ABSENCE, I KNOW. YOU FORGOT ME LONG AGO. AM I SO UNIMPORTANT? AM I SO INSIGNIFICANT? ISN'T SOMETHING MISSING...? ISN'T SOMEONE . . . |
[/size][/div] missing me? Ciel liked disappearing to the quarry alone. He could think freely there, or practice for choir. The rocks actually helped practicing, but that was not his reason that day. Ci really just needed to get away from the school, so he pretty much jumped at the chance to meet August out there, and had responded quickly to her text. It was too suffocating there. It was harder and harder to keep the promise that he had made when he was there. It did nothing but make him feel more and more like just giving up. He had thought more than once about simply running away; but, he'd feel bad for abandoning Mickey there. Maybe he should just wait until his little brother graduated. That was so long away, though. He squeezed his eyes shut and sighed before opening them again quickly as he stumbled a bit, luckily not falling or anything. "It's time to begin, isn't it? I get a little bit bigger, but then I'll admit, I'm just the same as I was. Now, don't you understand that I'm never changing who I am?" he sang softly to himself as he walked, shoving his cold hands into his jacket pockets. It was a song he liked to use in choir from a band he was really getting in to called Imagine Dragons. They were pretty cool, in his opinion, even if it was not the typical type of music he would listen to. It was a nice change from all the heavy, depressed, angry music that he often listened to. The song was definitely more of an uplifting one, though Ciel did not personally get too much out of it. Oh well. He sighed and looked up from the ground as he continued to walk along, smiling when he caught sight of one of his favorite people. "August!" he said with a smile that almost met his eyes as he walked over to where he was thinking. "Almost thought I'd have to send a search party out for you. What're you doing out here, anyway?" His question was not one of being upset about where they were or anything, more curious. Ci could not think of anyone else that actively sought out to spend time in the abandoned quarry. Well, maybe Nix did if there was a party or something; but, Ci avoided going to them if he knew Nix would be there simply to avoid seeing him flirting with someone. He did what he could to avoid seeing that, because it never felt good at all. "'M really, really glad you texted. Pretty sure I was about to die of boredom from homework." Okay, so maybe phrases like that weren't the best choice of words for a suicidal teen, but whatever. Ciel did not care. It was what he felt like saying, even if it wasn't the most tasteful word choice. When was he ever known for tact, though? That would be never. Ci went over to sit down next to August, smiling softly at her with a soft laugh as he hunched his shoulders against a slight wind that blew. "So, how have you been, doll?" he asked her, using one of the pet names he tended to use for her. He did not often use pet names for people, but he did with August. He was not sure why, but he did not think too much on it, either. It did not really matter in the end. He just did. That was the important part. He did enjoy spending time with her, and considered her to be one of his closest friends, surpassed only by Mickey and Phoenix. Ciel doubted anybody would be as important to him as they were, especially now that Matt was not in his life.

Hearing her name being called, August perked up and looked over her shoulder to see her one and only friend approaching. Excitement wheeled up inside of her, knowing she'd no longer have to be alone in this giant quarry. August didn't have many reasons for wanting to be out here, it was just some place farther away from the school and more quieter. She could have easily sat herself in a book store, but people were still around and ' normal' people would judge her if she started talking to the voices in her head. So in order to minimize the risk of being embarrassed, she liked to seclude herself when out in public as much as possible. So why not go somewhere abandoned? Chuckling lightly at his comment, she shrugged. " I just wanted to get away from people, that's all. Its really peaceful here too, once you get used to the dead silence. " She said comfortably, her Scottish accent definitely pushing through her words.
August didn't think twice about the next comment he made, just because she knew him enough to know whether or not he was kidding. Other's might have jumped to attention at the sound of those words coming out of a suicidal teenagers mouth, but she didn't even question it. Smirking, she nodded. " I get how you feel dude, it gets so boring there. I feel like there needs to be more for us to do in our free time. You'd think that throwing a bunch of nuts together with little restricted activities would eventually form some bad habits for us all.. " She sighed, pushing her hand through her blonde hair so that it was out of her face. She was only kidding, for a lot of the time August liked to make little comments about the school and how it wasn't anything beneficial for her or the other students. It was her own opinion and she rarely expressed it, so it was a rare comment for her to make. Of course though, she was definitely always thinking that.
Patting a place next to her, she was glad he decided to sit next to her. With her hands placing themselves in her lap, she looked over at him, smiling a rare smile. It was a true smile to August's personality, but it rarely showed up because only people she trusted could make her feel this way. She might have been the third most important in Ciel's life, but he was definitely the first in hers. He was the first person she let into her life at St. Helena's and definitely the only so far. Taking a deep breath of the brisk air, she pulled her blue eyes away from his direction and turned to look out over the Quarry. " Oh you know, just dandy as always. Nothing really special has been going on at all sadly, but we will see. How have you been? I hope every thing is going well with you" She said genuinely, caring about how Ciel was feeling.
Quickly remembering something, she quickly reached into the pocket of her leather jacket, pulling something out. " I also got you a gift, i saw them and thought about you. It helps with the weather changing and all, i would have wrapped them but i had limited resources!" She said gently, holding out a pair of leather fingerless gloves that had a pretty wicked leather design on the outside , trimmed with little hints of red leather, then on the inside, they were soft so to keep his hands warm if he so desired to wear them. " It's nothing spectacular, but, i wanted to get them for you" She rambled nervously, hoping he would like them. The voices had told her that it was pointless to get someone a gift, but when Ciel meant so much to her, she wanted to do nice things for him. It lead to August being extremely nervous because the voices made her doubt on whether or not he'd enjoy the gift.
