Play-By: Amanda C. Johansen
General Description: Standing at five foot six, she's a petite little thing. She doesn't have anything special looking about her, for she just tends to blend right into the crowd. She's very pale and can often be found with bruises upon her skin for she bruises easily. She often has dark circles around her eyes from the lack of sleep she gets. Other then that, she wears pretty simple clothing and doesn't wear much makeup. The most she does is brushes her hair and teeth in the morning, throws on what she can find, and hopes that it just makes her blend in even more![/blockquote]

Dislikes: The nightmares the voices cause her to have, when the voices trick her, living in America, being bullied, not being included, tangled hair, breakfast food, over sleeping, warm summer days, headaches, thunderstorms, being scared, crying, being weak, how sensitive she is, wearing jeans for too long, paper cuts.

- Letting others take advantage of her
- Getting good grades and keeping it that way
Weaknesses:

- Ignoring the voices in her head
- Playing piano
Fears:
- Death
- The voices overwhelming her
- Being alone for the rest of her life
- Thunderstorms
Disorders:
- Extreme paranoia
- Schizophrenia
- Night terrors
General Description:
Personality wise, August is a sensitive soul. There is a lot about her that makes her unapproachable to the normal human being. Whether it be a positive or a negative interaction with someone, she takes things too seriously. It is what causes her to be so paranoid about almost everything in her life! It started with just what others thought of her, but then it turned into whether she'd get to class on time, waking up on time, whether or not something was too dangerous or not.. the list could just go on and on. The schizophrenia doesn't play well into it either, for she has about three prominent voices in her head. One of which is more like a motherly figure that tells her genuinely whats the right and wrong thing to do. Its the voice that's there for her when she's feeling alone, it was the original voice she heard as a child. The other two voices are more violent and tend to over power the first one. She listens to them more then she does anyone else, which is the reason so to why she's at St. Helena's.
Now, from her actual disorders that affect her personality, the girl usually is described as innocent. She doesn't like hurting others and wishes everyone well, even if they cause her harm. She can't stick up for herself, she wont argue with someone, she's a huge pushover basically. Even though she considers the voices her only friends, she wishes she could make real friends. Socially, she's just awkward and that's what keeps her from making friends. She's weird, she's odd, but above all things she's peculiar and it keeps people away from her. Sad and alone, she feels a lot of sorrow for the things she wishes she could have! [/blockquote]

History:
Born in Stirling, Scotland, formally known as just August, was abandoned at the moment she was born. Her parent's had no money to take care of her since the pregnancy wasn't planned. So the moment she was born, she was filed to go to an orphanage until she'd be adopted. Now, as a newborn, life wasn't so bad for orphans. They were kept in a special ward in a hospital so the babies would receive the proper care that they would need to so they could grow into a healthy child! It was sad that it happened to such a vast amount of children in Stirling, but the economy wasn't so great at the time, so it was common that children were often abandoned like this.
When she was out of the critical stages of being a newborn, she was finally sent to the orphanage where the women would take care of her. The orphanage house separated the babies from the rest of the children, but it wasn't a very organized place for these children to be living in. There were too many children for the women that ran the facility. August had it easy until she turned about two. Slowly, the women brought her in with the other children, just to get her used to the schooling they'd be taught, so she'd get used to playing with older children, etc. Once she got comfortable, they just let her go. Other little girls, who were older then August took care of her, watching over her, even if they didn't have to!
It was until August turned about five when she began separating from the other girls and boys. The chaos wasn't something she was growing to like. It was too loud , too crowded and being so close with so many children eventually lead to rifts in friendships. Some of the boys would pick on the girls, even the girls would pick on other girls. That negative vibe was something August immediately noticed and shied away from. She'd quickly grown accustom to playing alone, to eating her breakfast, lunch, and dinner alone. The women that were in charge of the orphanage had too many children on their hands to notice or at least care if they had. It obviously wasn't a big deal for her to want to be alone. Little did they know that it was mentally effecting her.
As time went on, August completely shut herself off from the other children. When in class , she'd never do group work, when being asked to play with others, she's simply run away and hide so she'd be able to be on her own without being harassed. It went completely unnoticed until she'd wake up in the middle of the night , screaming. When the women would run to her aid, August would explain that the voices were causing her nightmares. That entire time, she didn't think she was alone. The voices had kept her company! The first one that rolled around was Florence, a rather motherly figure voice. It wasn't long until Remus and Karmin , the other two voices began to haunt her. They'd pick on her, tell her to do things that she'd willingly do, but only because they threatened her.
The night terrors worried the women that ran the orphanage, but it just lead to them separating August even more in another room where she'd sleep in alone. That's how it went for a really long time, the poor girl being haunted by her own mind while others enjoyed themselves and eventually got adopted. That didn't make Remus and Karmin too happy, so they'd tell August to terrorize some of the other little girls who were getting adopted. It didn't make things any easier for the orphanage, luckily, to August's rescue, a woman who was originally from Scotland wanted to adopt a little girl. She found August's peculiarness attractive and adopted her. August was only about twelve at the time , having no feeling of being adopted really. Was it good? She didn't think it would change anything for her.. but maybe it would.
Soon after the adoption, Ellie, the girls new mother, was married to an American. Moving seemed like a grand idea, since Scotland at the time held nothing but the orphanage for August in her memories. Plus Ellie thought a big change would make these ' voices' and night terrors go away. Maybe this whole move could erase everything that haunted the poor girls mind.
Yeah they were wrong about that. As soon as they settled into their Washington home, everything seemed to get worse. The voices, Remus and Karmin terrorized August for letting them take her away from Scotland. It didn't lead to be very pretty, so Ellie did her research to help August. Luckily, St. Helena's was close enough that they could send her there! She was diagnosed Schizophrenic a long ways before they brought her to America, before she was even adopted.. so it all made sense. The only thing August didn't like was that she was again being separated and left alone with these voices. She started her freshman year here, improving just a little. With her scottish accent still about, the voices still controlling her life... she's becoming helpless and tired of everything.. who knows what her final years at St. Helena's will do for the poor unfortunate soul.
