General Description: When she isn't strung out, she's actually a pretty girl. She wears too much make up these days, and it makes her look even more drugged than she is. She dyes her hair frequently, and as a result it has become damaged. Heroin caused her to lose a lot of weight, and she has been gaining since she was finally sent to the hospital. Before she was taken in for treatment, she dressed in cheap revealing clothes, in order to up her chances of scoring some heroin. She has track marks on her arms from her injection sites. She was fortunate enough that none of them ever became seriously infected, but they did leave ugly scars.[/blockquote]

fallout , fallout , fallout, through the fallout. fallout, fallout, through the fallout. well now there's him,
Likes:
-Before Heroin, she liked to draw pictures. She was pretty good at drawing.
-Before Heroin, she used to love to sing. She sang in the school choir.
-Before Heroin, she used to like shopping with her friends and doing normal girl things, like gossiping and trading clothes.
-Before Heroin, she used to like reading books, especially poetry books. A teacher in her elementary school once spent a month reading a book of woman poets to her class. She fell in love with the poems of Emily Dickinson.
-Before Heroin, she used to like reading the paper and drinking coffee, and pretending that she was some rich and important businessperson.
Dislikes:
-Feeling like she has lost so much time because of the addiction.
-Her stepfather.
-Her mother.
-Remembering the things she did for drugs.
-Feeling like she can't get better. She's trying so hard, but sometimes her craving for heroin consumes her completely. Feeling helpless.
-She feels like she doesn't even know who she is anymore. She can't go back to being the person she was before heroin, but she doesn't want to be the person she was on heroin. She doesn't want to become her mother and she doesn't want to just feel like nobody at all.
Strengths:
-She wants to get better.
-She's smart enough to succeed if she applies herself.
-She is a kind person.
Weaknesses:
-Addictive personality. This can be a huge problem for recovery.
-She has abandonment issues. She feels like her mother should have protected her from her stepfather, and like she just gave up on her. She feels like her biological father and brother abandoned her and left her to face her mother and stepfather alone. And, it hurts her that they never attempted to find her (she assumes they didn't, anyway).
-Survivors Guilt. A close friend of hers died of a heroin overdose the same day she nearly died. The stuff they'd been given was tainted and caused them both to lose consciousness and stop breathing, but only Harmony came out alive.
Fears:
-Never being able to recover.
-Becoming like her mother.
Disorders: Heroin addiction, though she is currently clean. Also, survivors guilt and possible PTSD.
General Description: She used to be a pretty good student believe it or not. In elementary school she thought she was going to be a doctor, and she was her teacher's favourite. She had a sweet singing voice and had an artistic streak in her. But, life at home eventually caught up to her she ended up involved in drugs. She really wants to recover now. Her near death experience has made her realize that she has to make a serious changes or she'll wind up dead. She wants to do well in school now. She is so smart, it's a shame she missed so much school. If she'd stayed on the right track she'd probably be in advanced placement classes. Maybe she will be some day, if she doesn't allow herself to fall back into her old habit. [/blockquote]

Jane Turner (now Barron)Mother:
Father: Gregory Turner
Step-Father: Jeffrey Barron
Siblings: Phoenix James Turner
History:
Her life was almost normal in the beginning. She had a mom, a dad, and a big brother. She was close to her big brother, Phoenix. He was her best friend. But, then her home life was consumed by addiction, and one day her mother just got up and left, taking Harmony with her and leaving Phoenix behind. She's always felt incomplete and wondered whatever happened to her brother. Sometimes she thought that she just imagined him, since no one ever talked about him, and because she wouldn't dare ask her mother about Phoenix. Any talk about their old life would result in some sort of punishment.
She was a good girl before her mother remarried and her step-father began abusing her. It was just little things at first--- he'd shout a little too loudly when she broke something, maybe punish her a little too harshly. But, it got worse and worse, to the point where she was afraid of him. He got to be particularly mean when he was drunk. He'd accuse her mom of being a whore when he was drunk, and then beat her in front of Harmony. Then, the sexual abuse began, and she just stopped going to school. When she told her mom about the abuse she was called a liar.
She fell in with the wrong crowd and started using drugs and drinking heavily. She'd stay out all night so she wouldn't have to face the hell hole that was her home. It was just the party drugs at first--- ecstasy, PCP, ketamine. At some point she went to a party where there were people doing heroin, and she tried it because she had nothing to lose. She wound up addicted. Alcohol and other drugs didn't matter any more after she became addicted to heroin, and so that was one good thing that came out of it. But, she got to the point where her head was so messed up, she started sleeping with dealers to get free drugs. It's a wonder she didn't end up with HIV.
Heroin was all that mattered. She'd stay away from home for days, just looking for her next fix. She lost weight to the point where she was a walking skeleton, and then one day some of the other junkies walked into the basement of the house where she was staying to find that she and a friend of hers were both unconscious and not breathing. Fortunately, one of the guys knew CPR and kept her alive until the paramedics arrived. The other girl was blue in the face and cold, so the guy who saved Harmony made a snap judgement and decided that Harmony had more of a chance of surviving if he helped her, and if he didn't help her first she'd die. So, Harmony was saved and her friend died.
Harmony feels intense guilt because of her friend's death. She can't help but wonder if her friend was still alive when they gave Harmony CPR, and if they'd helped her instead of Harmony she might still be alive now. The experience scared her, and sobered her mom up enough that she had the sense to send her somewhere. After the hospital, that somewhere was St. Helena's. [/blockquote]
