-Money. Money makes the world go round, does it not? Where would she be without it? She loves shopping and dressing to impress, so money is a must have.
-Shopping. Be it for her ridiculously expensive wardrobe or for equally ridiculous hand-bags, she is in her element when she is shopping.
-Skinny. Being skinny. Being around skinny people. Drinking skinny lattes. There is nothing about skinny that she doesn't like. She feels so superior to non-skinny people, though she'll never just come out in say it. She can convey her superiority through a simple glance.
-Control. Everything in her life has to be controlled--- the people who sit with her at what is supposed to be lunch, the way her hair looks, the gifts she receives for Christmas--- all planned in advanced.
-Drama. Not just acting, but real life drama. This is the one place she doesn't need everything to be perfect. She loves a little friction, just so long as she is secretly control of the situation. She loves manipulating people into blowing up at each other, while she watches from the sidelines in amusement. Of course, she only does that to her enemies. She wouldn't enjoy hurting her friends, right?
-Dance. She is a talented dancer and she looks 'better' (skinnier) than everyone else in a leotard. But, in the end it is never enough.
-Cigarettes. The suppress her appetite and take the edge off of her anxiety.
-Praise. She feels the need to be constantly complimented and reassured that she is the best and the prettiest.

Dislikes:
-Fat. That's sort of a given. She doesn't only hate fat on her own body, she hates it on other people too. She hates fat people because she feels like they aren't making an effort, and they disgust her.
-Food. After so many years of starving herself she has actually grown to dislike food. The smell makes her feel sick.
-Competition. She feels threatened by girls who might be prettier or skinnier or better dancers, and will do anything to crush the competition. But, she finds competition generally distressing.
-Men. She thinks that all men are pigs. This probably has something to do with the fact that her father was always cheating on her mother when she was growing up, and when her mother remarried her step-father molested her. After her parents divorced her father went from woman to woman, often dating women who were young enough to be Sophie's sisters. Young women threw themselves at her father because of his money.
-Women. Because her father has been with so many gold digging women she has come to the conclusion that all women are whores.
-Sex. She was sexually abused as a child and has been disgusted by sex ever since.

Strengths:
-Determination. If she wants something she WILL get it. If she wants to be the skinniest girl around, she will be. She has amazing will power.
-Cleverness. This isn't necessarily extended to an academic setting, though she's no slouch in school, she devotes most of her intelligence to petty matters like making sure her enemies are miserable and that she is the best dancer and skinniest girl in the room.
-Beauty. Even now that she is a walking skeleton she is still pretty. Pretty can get a girl places if she knows how to use it.
Weaknesses:
-Trust Issues. She has been hurt in the past and can't help but think that everyone is out to get everyone else. She can't make close friends, though she is very good at pretending.
-Cruelty. Though it might make her feel like she is at an advantage, her cruelty only isolates her further in the end.
-Disorder Rules Her Life. As much as she believes that she is in control, it is her disorder that runs her life.

-Getting Fat. She has promised herself that if she ever becomes 'fat' (normal) she will kill herself without hesitation. That is how much she fears fat.

General Description: She is petty, manipulative, and cruel. She thinks that everyone is inherently cruel and all 'good' people are just pretending to be that way so that they can have praises heaped on them. She has an extreme mistrust of all men and feels particular pleasure from causing them pain. She hates everyone and hates herself too. She can point out a person's imperfections from a mile away and spends hours obsessing over her own perceived imperfections. She hates her nose and has been trying to convince one of her parents to let her get a nose job since she was a pre-teen (her nose is just fine). She has an abnormal dislike of fat people and can't even stand to be in the same room as one for very long. History: She doesn't come from old money. Her mother comes from a line of social climbers and has always had a bit of an inferiority complex which passed on to Sophie. Her father came from a well-to-do, but not disgustingly rich family. But, then his family business took off after half a century of just scraping by, and they suddenly became very rich. The Martin family didn't know what to do with all the money that was suddenly coming their way. For this reason as well as parental guilt, Richard always showered Sophie with gifts. Inès married to another rich man (the one who abused Sophie when she was young) and then divorced him for all of his money, then married into money again. That is how Sophie learned to wear her wealth around like a badge, and not just live wealthy like kids who come from old money.

After she was abused she felt dirty, and maybe that is how she became obsessed with everything being perfect. Starting with herself everything had to be beautiful--- she had to have the prettiest house, the prettiest mother, and she herself had to be the prettiest little girl around. She was often praised for her looks as a small child, and that is all the love she understands. She craves that praise, and now she can find self-worth in shrinking down smaller and smaller. She feels like she is good at something when she is 'beating' everyone else at weight loss. Sometimes when she is alone she looks at herself and just cries because nothing is ever exactly the way she wants it to be. She couldn't ever cry genuine tears in front of another human being, but she can use false tears as weapons at times.

She is at St. Helena's because she dropped two stone in a year and her parents couldn't handle watching her die before their eyes. They already had enough guilt to deal with. She also refuses to believe that she has a problem. She thinks that the rest of the world is wrong and fat.
